Lucy Barnes

Psychotherapist

Lucy is a fully qualified Systemic Couple and Family Psychotherapist (MA), Art Psychotherapist (MA), and is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing). She is experienced with working with a wide range of people, utilising evidence-based practice and extensive further training.

Lucy has over 25 years of clinical experience working therapeutically with a diverse range of individuals, couples, and families. Offering individual, couple, and family psychotherapy, Lucy provides a safe, confidential, and nonjudgmental space, working collaboratively with her clients and supported by the latest evidence-based principles.

In her sessions, she integrates mind-body techniques and the use of images to support the process and expression, especially when words are hard to find.

Alongside her private practice, Lucy works in Children's social care with Looked After Children and care leavers. She has worked in many different clinical settings, including an inner-London NHS child and adolescent mental health service for many years. She has been a psychotherapist in London schools and has worked in the charitable sector. Lucy teaches in children's services and supervises psychotherapists and counsellors.

Lucy is registered with the Association of Family Therapy & Systemic Practice (AFT), United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), and the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC).
