What happens when I visit my Chiropractor?
Your first consultation
On your first visit, we will take a complete medical history followed by a physical examination including postural analysis, muscle testing and joint motion palpation to determine the cause of your condition. If necessary, we will refer you for additional tests, an X-ray or a scan.
Once we have assessed your condition, we will discuss your treatment plan and options. If we feel that we cannot help you, we will refer you to your GP or another healthcare professional.
A treatment session may include a variety of therapies, including manual manipulation or mobilisation of the spine and joints, soft tissue and stretching techniques, medical acupuncture, or myofascial dry needling, as it is also known.
We will provide specific rehabilitation advice, including rehab pilates with your therapist or the clinic’s personal trainer. This includes stretching and strengthening exercises combined with posture guidance to decrease the likelihood of recurrence.
Chiropractic is a regulated primary healthcare profession. Our chiropractors are fully qualified and registered with the General Chiropractic Council which oversees chiropractic standards and patient safety in UK.
